Request and/or Sponsor a Butterfly Box
Please send an email to rebecca@emilyann.org if you would like to receive and/or sponsor a butterfly cage for the 2024 Butterfly Festival. Once we receive your request, we will contact you to confirm your cage and/or sponsorship. Cage sponsorships are $50 each.
Payment Information: Once you have sent the email request and it has been confirmed, you will receive a "welcome" email that includes payment options for the $50/per cage. If you have an outside sponsor, they will also receive information about payment. These emails are not automatically generated so it may be a few days before you receive the email.
Art Contest Rules & Criteria for 2024

Please text or email Rebecca if you are interested in having your classroom or school participate in the art contest. There is no charge to participate. She will get back to you with any additional details. It is never too soon to make contact for the 2023 art contest so feel free to email or text whenever you have decided to participate so we can get information out early.
Rules & Criteria: (click here to download this information)
1. Kindergarten classes submit "Caterpillar" Art and grades 1-12 submit "Butterfly" Art.
2. Submissions are juried and all rules apply.
3. Butterflies are done in a "free form" manner. No patterns are provided. Artwork should be between 3"x5" and 8.5"x11".
4. Fantasy and Realistic are the two categories. If artwork is undesignated, it is not eligible for jurying.
5. Judging Criteria: originality, elements of art, execution of theme chosen, detail, overall appearance, principles of design
6. Suggested Materials: pencil color, watercolor pencil, marker, soft pastel, oil pastel, pen & ink, pencil, watercolor, acrylic paint, crayon
7. All entries must be laminated with strings attached for hanging.
8. Only artwork with identification tags are eligible for jurying. Please print information on the tags. Click here for the tags.
9. Include a roster with your artwork that includes the school name, student names, grade, and category.
10. Teachers may select the top five entries from each category (fantasy and realistic) per class and send those selections in a separate envelope. These entries will be juried together and ribbons will be awarded. We have a special education award in each division. If you would like a student's art juried in this division, please indicate this on your roster.
11. The Best of Show butterfly will become the property of the EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens.
